Our Local Community
We are pleased to be sponsoring again the St Clears YFC Agricultural Show and the Cothi Bridge Agricultural Show.
The St Clears YFC Agricultural Show is being held on the 18th May 2013 at the United Counties Show ground at Nantyci.
The Cothi Bridge Agricultural Show takes place on Saturday 25th May 2013 at the Showground in Pontargothi.
We are having a stand at both shows and hope that friends old and new will pop along and join us for some refreshments.
We wish both Committees a successful Show and hope the weather will be kind on the day.
Centenary Celebrations
Our Centenary Celebration plans are progressing very well. We have arranged a Centenary Party in St Peters Civic Hall on Wednesday 26th June 2013 and hope everyone will come along and help us celebrate.
We have also been fortunate to have been sent some wonderful photographs relating to the Practice's history and we are hoping to display some of these at our Party.
As part of our Centenary year, we have decided to hold some fundraising events to raise money for some local charities and organisations and will be supporting:
- Towy Salmon Swimming Club - this is a swimming club that meets weekly at Carmarthen Leisure Centre and provides an opportunity for those with any disability or special need to enjoy water activities at all levels. Their key aim is to ensure that their members enjoy, as well as benefit from these water activities.
- Hazel's Light - this is a charity that was set in memory of Hazel Thomas of Laugharne who sadly passed away at the age of 48 from a brain tumour.
- The charity was set up by her children to commemorate their much loved mother to help fund research into brain tumours and also to bring hope to other families who have been touched by this disease.
- Wales Air Ambulance - this is the national air ambulance charity for Wales, providing emergency air cover for those who face life-threatening illness or injuries. The Charity relies entirely on donations to raise £6 million each year to operate the three helicopters that cover Wales.
