New Lasting Power of Attorney Forms
New Lasting Power of Attorney Forms have been brought out and will be compulsory from 1 January 2016.
They are easier to understand, but not in all respects. Although it is helpful that the registration form has been incorporated into the main Lasting Power of Attorney form and it is no longer necessary to have a notified person, the forms will still often involve continuation sheets. There are also aspects which are still not straightforward, for instance in relation to making sure that your Replacement Attorneys can act in the way in which you would want them to. No attempt has been made to combine the financial form with the Health and Welfare one and therefore these have to be completed separately. Existing Enduring and Lasting Powers of Attorney remain valid.
Recognising that the Lasting Powers of Attorney have been made more user-friendly and in the hope of encouraging more of our clients, new and existing, to make Lasting Powers of Attorney, we are pleased to have reduced our fixed fees for Lasting Powers of Attorney.
